Audio Technica ATH-AD700

Everything I hoped they would be. After digging through mountains of reviews, I found this headset with the Turtle Beach 5.1 decoder on a fiber optic connection to be the way to go with Xbox gaming. Mic/headset combos will never be in my cart after hearing games through this combo. The soundstage is enveloping, bought this for MW3 and was able to pick up on the smallest nuances in targeting players. Anyone wondering about mic chat, just buy a $9 clip mic and your good to go.

Update* - Took MW3 back to Gamestop. Turns out the masses were right, its just MW2.5 and I tired of it quickly even with the new combat scenarios. Using these cans for music and movies (sans the 5.1 decoder) on PC now, continues to impress me every time I put them on. The spring tension head pads allow for a wonderful balance and counter-weight to the pads on your ears. Hours of wear and no ear fatigue. Movies like Fifth Element, Blade Runner, all sound spectacular. Music sounds fantastic on these AD700s. Warm midtones, solid bass, crisp highs. House, Hip-Hop, New Age, Classical, Rock, all sound great.

If your looking for a gaming headset for your Xbox, stop looking, add this to cart, go get the turtle beach 5.1 decoder and hook it up over fiber. You will not be disappointed. Get a clip on mic to add for chat if you want, will be better than any all in one mic/headset gaming system they sell.

**Closing update - Don't wear these in public. They look like a fuchsia & bronze version of Princess Leia's ear buns. I really think these things are awesome, but the coloring is... woah..
