Just got the ATH-M35 and tried them out on a mix of tracks - from rock to classical vocals and string and percussion instrumentals. Was equally at ease in each genre and as many other reviewers have pointed out, nowhere is there any artificial boosting of low or mid ranges!
The subtle harmonics around main frequencies are also clearly audible. Coupled with the excellent isolation due to the enveloping earpieces, the perception of highly enhanced detail is something to be heard to appreciate.
Extremely comfortable too, my ears are average sized and the ear pieces completely surround them! Pressure is not too high either.
All in all, am very satisfied with the purchase and the choice I made with the M35!
